These textures are formed as the molten plastic cools inside the mold and can appear as faint swirls, or inconsistent changes in sheen. This is an intended effect, with similar characteristics seen in my prior keycap set design MW Jade Dragon. Here’s a photo album with some close-up photos of the effect.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI also wanted to design a keycap set that would look nice in the dark too, thus the semi-translucent material of the legends on the white keycaps allows for some shine-through. A backlit keyboard would actually evoke the otherworldly glow of the blue-green gradient and materia colours best.
